Drano - Artist
Drano is a rap artist hailing from Richmond,VA. Drano has been writing music for 16 years and performing for 13 years and is currently an artist on the net label, Just Plain Sounds.
Drano got his start performing with a group called, Third World Terrorists. Participating on the open mic sessions at VCU's Underground honed his stage presence skills as well as gaining fans and exposure. With Third World Terrorists, Drano was given the opportunity to open up for Nelly in Lake Gaston, NC...which was a major success and opened many doors for Drano.
In 2002, Drano recorded and released his first album, "Sweet Hangover". In 2008 his sophomore album, "Sleep Well". In 2010 his mixtape, "SlumDON Billionaire" and released his second mixtape, "The Night Driver" in January 2012 which was released through JPS. Following that, Drano will begin working on his 3rd mixtape entitled, "City of God" and then his 3rd full length album, "Insomniac"
Drano has opened up for, Wu Tang Clan, T.I., De La Soul, Camp Lo, Nelly and Sean Price. Also has performed at various venues such as The Roxy, The Hat Factory, Alley Katz, Strange Matter,Chopstix, Club 534, The Cotton Club, The Camel, Lake Gaston, NC and the NCO of Fort Lee. Drano has also performed for "National Be Healthy Day' in Richmond, VA as well as many non profit benefits for AIDS cure research and foundations for at risk teens and children.
Drano has also appeared on many projects including: Swirv Deniro's "Ear 2 Da Streets" VOL 1 & 2, Big Lo's "The Reality Show" mixtape, DJ Seven's "Commercial Free" mixtape, DJ Vonn's "Hurricane Isabelle" mixtape, BHOTT presents "VA 2 Up 2 Down" compilation, Stress Tha Lyricist's "Alright Already" LP, Corey Alexander's Rims Racing Sounds and Security promo commercials, Art 180 presents The Gilpin Poets: "One Time for Your Mind" EP, Just Plain Sounds presents:" For Your Listening Pleasure II." Dynamite J and 804 Live present, "Virginia is for Hustlas #4" as well as contributing to the original theme song of the reality show, "From G's to Gents" which aired on MTV.
Drano also won the "Strictly Skills MC Battle" in 2006 which was held in Richmond, VA . The following year, Drano came in 2nd place for the same competition. In 2007, Drano participated in the MTV MC Battle, which was held in New York City and came in 7th place out of the thousands that attended.
Drano's goal is to be heard on an international level without having to sacrifice the quality of his music.
